Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8: Which One is Better?

Tineco recently released a new upright vacuum cleaner: the Tineco Pure One S11. When I tested this cordless stick vacuum, it reminded me of the Dyson V8 in terms of performance. Because I tested both vacuum cleaners for Vacuumtester.com, I can put them side by side and compare them on important factors.
In this Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8 comparison I share the biggest differences and similarities.

Suction performance: Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8
Let's start with the suction performance of both vacuum cleaners. To be able to assess the suction performance in my reviews, I always test the cleaning result on three different floor types: wooden floors, low-pile carpet and high-pile carpet.

In addition, I always research the suction power in kilopascals and the airflow in meters per second. This allows me to compare the suction power of vacuum cleaners.
Both suitable for all floor types
In my Dyson V8 review I chose the ‘Absolute' variant. This includes a soft parquet brush and a motorized brush for soft floor types. During the Tineco Pure One S11 review, I only discovered a motorized floor brush. However, if you opt for the Tango version, you will also receive a parquet brush.
I tested both vacuum cleaners on the three different floor types with the same amount of dirt and tracked the time: how quickly was the floor clean? I noticed that the Dyson vacuum cleaner shoots the dirt away a bit more than the Tineco stick vacuum cleaner. As a result, vacuuming the floor took longer. View the result in the overview below.
Hardwood Floors | Low pile carpet | High pile carpet | |
---|---|---|---|
Tineco Pure One S11 | 20 seconds | 22 seconds | 15 seconds |
Dyson V8 (Absolute) | 22 seconds | 31 seconds | 25 seconds |
Suction power (kPA) and airflow (m/s)
If we look at the suction power and airflow, there is also a noticeable difference. The Tineco Pure One S11 has a suction power of 9 kilopascals in normal mode and 15 kilopascals in turbo mode. The Dyson V8 has a suction power of 5 kilopascals in normal mode and 16 in turbo mode.

The average air speed of the Tineco Pure One S11 is better than that of Dyson at 19.2 meters per second: 10.3 meters per second.

Ease of use: Dyson V8 vs Tineco Pure One S11
The ease of use of the vacuum cleaner is a broad concept. I therefore always investigate the following factors:
- Noise level
- Weight
- Range (battery life)
Noise level: Tineco a lot quieter
We are dealing here with cordless and bagless stick vacuum cleaners: these types of vacuum cleaners often make more noise than traditional vacuum cleaners with a dust bag. Still, it is important to compare the noise level, because which is the best quiet vacuum cleaner?

The Tineco Pure One S11 has a maximum noise level of 68.1 decibels. This is a lot lower than the Dyson V8 where I measured a noise level of 71.3 decibels.
Weight: Dyson heavier than Tineco
You have to hold a stick vacuum in your hand at all times. The lighter the better! I weighed both vacuum cleaners. Note: I always weigh the vacuum cleaner with vacuum cleaner rod and floor brush. After all, this is how you use it most often.

Battery life: 38 minutes vs 25 minutes
The cord length of a vacuum cleaner determines the total vacuum cleaner range. Because we are dealing with cordless vacuum cleaners here, we do not look at the cord length, but at the battery life.
I fully charged the Tineco and the Dyson vacuum cleaner and then checked how long the battery lasts. The Dyson V8 battery lasts about 25 minutes. A bit shorter than the Tineco Pure One S11 battery that lasts 38 minutes. Both vacuum cleaners have a clickable battery, so you can optionally replace it with an extra battery.
Maintenance: Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8
Are the filters washable? And what about charging the battery? The maintenance of a stick vacuum cleaner is an important aspect. For example, you don't want to have to empty the vacuum cleaner after every cleaning job.
Filters are washable on both vacuum cleaners
Both the Dyson and the Tineco stick vacuum cleaner are equipped with a HEPA filter. You can wash the HEPA filter and easily replace it with a new one if you use it for a long time. Tineco even includes a special cleaning brush with which you can clean the filter.

Dust capacity: 0.6 liters 0.54 liters
The dust capacity of both vacuum cleaners is almost the same: the Tineco Pure One S11 has a capacity of 0.6 liters and the Dyson V8 0.54 liters. With both vacuum cleaners you will have to take into account that you have to empty them daily.
Charging: both with suspension system
Both the Tineco and the Dyson stick vacuum cleaner can be hung up for storage and charging. However, the Tineco has a special extra: you can charge an extra battery at the top of the suspension system. This can be useful if you want to extend the battery life. For example, if you have a large house.
