Tineco has built up a great reputation worldwide in a short time. The brand – which is a subsidiary of Ecovacs Robotics – offers a wide range of cordless stick vacuum cleaners.
The company recently launched the Tineco Pure One S11. The vacuum cleaner caught my attention because of the possibility to make a connection with your smartphone. Let’s take a quick look at how well this vacuum cleaner scores.
The Tineco Pure One S11 is a powerful vacuum cleaner that is particularly suitable for carpet. Thanks to the included turbo brush, it is also a good choice for removing pet hair. It comes close to the Dyson V15 in terms of performance and features, but is a lot cheaper.
- Good suction on carpet
- Motorized pet hair brushes
- Easy to maintain
- Not as expensive as a Dyson V15
- Not suitable for wooden floors without a parquet brush
- Cannot be charged without a wall charger
- App is redundant

Suction performance: how well does the Tineco S11 perform?
When unboxing the Tineco Pure One S11, I discovered only one floor brush. I am therefore very curious how the stick vacuum scores on different floor types. Like any other vacuum cleaner review, I tested the stick vacuum cleaner on three different floor types: hard floors (wooden floors), low-pile carpet, and high-pile carpet. I used a variety of dirt in different sizes: from animal hair to grains of rice.
Performance on wood floors, carpet and pet hair
The Tineco Pure One S11 scores very well on wooden floors when it comes to vacuuming small dirt. All the dirt is neatly vacuumed and is not pushed forward. This is a different story with larger dirt: here the dirt is pushed out in front of the floor brush, after which a lot of dirt is created. When the brush is lifted, the dirt is shot backwards. In short: not very suitable for wooden floors.
Alternative choice: Tineco Pure One S11 vs Tango
I must mention that the Tineco Pure One S11 Tango version comes with a soft parquet brush. Do you have wooden floors? Then this edition is a must-have.
The stick vacuum cleaner scores a lot better on carpet: both large and small dirt are vacuumed well here. The cordless stick vacuum cleaner has a bit more trouble on deep-pile carpet, but in the end this is all neatly vacuumed up without any problems.
Finally, it is also a good choice for pet hair: the vacuum cleaner comes with two motorized brushes. These brushes pull the hair with them. The mini turbo brush makes it possible to easily remove animal hair from upholstery.
- Hardwood floors: 5/10
- Carpet: 7/10
- Pet Hair: 7,5/10
Tineco Pure One S11 Suction and AirFlow
To be able to properly compare stick vacuums, I always do a suction power and an airflow measurement. I use a custom-made vacuum tester and an air speed meter.
The suction power measurement of the Tineco Pure One S11 is 10 kilopascals in normal mode and almost 20 kilopascals in the highest mode. This brings the vacuum cleaner close to the results from the Dyson V15 Detect review.
The suction power is automatically adjusted thanks to iLoop. This is also shown around the LCD display on the upright vacuum cleaner with a striking light ring. A blue ring means little dust detection, so less suction power is needed. The redder the ring, the more dust is detected, after which the suction power is automatically increased. You can choose to disable this automatic suction power.

The AirFlow of the stick vacuum, measured in meters per second with an air speed meter, is 19.2 meters per second.
Usability of the Tineco S11
The user-friendliness of a vacuum cleaner is a broad concept. This also has a lot to do with what kind of vacuum cleaner you are dealing with. For example, with a stick vacuum I look at the battery life, while with a corded vacuum cleaner I look at the cord length.
To investigate the user-friendliness of the Tineco S11, I tested the following factors:
- Noise level
- Operation and app
- Battery life and charging
Note: It is true that much of this information is specified by the manufacturer. However, I test everything myself and look for possible differences.
Noise level: a silent stick vacuum cleaner
The Tineco Pure One S11 is remarkably quiet. Although a cordless stick vacuum usually produces a noise level above 75 decibels, this model has 68.1 decibels. This makes it one of the quietest stick vacuums I’ve tested. Unfortunately, it does not qualify for the title of ‘best silent vacuum cleaner‘: the new Philips AquaTrio 9000 Series is slightly quieter.
Operation and app
The vacuum cleaner is very easy to operate. The handle is nice to hold and there is the option to keep the trigger button pressed. This is of interest to many people: I recently also published an article about the Dyson Trigger lock, for people with a Dyson who don’t want to have the button pressed all the time. So that is not necessary here.
What makes the Tineco Pure One S11 unique is the support of an app. You can create an account at Tineco and add the vacuum cleaner. You read that right: connecting a stick vacuum cleaner to your smartphone. However, the functions are frankly not very exciting: you can view the battery level or check when filters need to be replaced. But that’s about it.
Weight: a lightweight stick vacuum cleaner
According to Tineco, the stick vacuum weighs 2.6 kilograms. It is one of the first times that the stated weight of a vacuum cleaner manufacturer is correct! I have equipped the vacuum cleaner with a vacuum cleaner rod and a floor brush and it is 2.6 kilograms to the milligram.
It is one of the first times that the stated weight of a vacuum cleaner manufacturer is correct!
Battery life and charging
The Tineco Pure One S11 has a maximum battery life of 40 minutes (I measured this and it came out at 38 minutes). This results in excellent battery life. You can charge the vacuum cleaner by hanging it in the wall holder. Unfortunately, you can’t charge it without the wall mount. So you would have to mount it on the wall.
What is a big advantage of the wall mount is that you can charge a separate battery. If you have an extra battery, you can’t go wrong and extend the battery life to about 80 minutes.
Versatility: many accessories
The unboxing already revealed that the Tineco S11 is a versatile vacuum cleaner. When you remove the vacuum cleaner rod, the vacuum cleaner feels very flexible and compact. Thanks to the crevice tool, the extendable dusting brush and the mini turbo brush, you can use the vacuum cleaner for much more than just the floor.
Maintenance: emptying and cleaning filters
The Tineco Pure One S11 has a dust capacity of 0.6 liters (this is slightly smaller than, for example, the Dyson V15). You have to take into account that you have to empty the vacuum cleaner about every two times. Fortunately, emptying is very easy and you can do this without coming into contact with the dirt.
How to Clean Tineco Pure One S11 filter
You can clean the filters of the Tineco Pure One. The Tineco Pure One S11 is equipped with a pre-filter, a gauze filter and a HEPA filter.
You can wash the HEPA filter under the tap. After you have let it dry properly (at least 24 hours) you can use it again. You can use a special maintenance accessory to clean the pre-filter. You can insert the pre-filter there and then clean the filter yourself with the vacuum cleaner.
More information? I have written a complete manual about cleaning a Tineco filter.

Conclusion: Tineco Pure One S11 review
The Tinece Pure One S11 is a versatile vacuum cleaner. Thanks to the many accessories you can use it for many situations. Please note if you often have wooden floors: the normal version does not come with a parquet brush, which appears to be necessary in my research. Then go for the Tineco Pure One S11 Tango: you will get a parket brush with this version.
In terms of performance (suction power and airflow), the Tineco stick vacuum cleaner is very similar to the Dyson V15 Detect. Also in terms of functions; for example, both stick vacuums have a sensor that automatically adjusts the suction power. The Tineco app is nice, but rather an unnecessary luxury.
