SwitchBot has launched a new robot vacuum cleaner: the Switchbot K10+. It is a remarkably low and especially small robot vacuum cleaner.
SwitchBot K10+ Robot Vacuum Cleaner
The new SwitchBot K10+ is a compact robot vacuum cleaner. SwitchBot even labels it as the smallest robot vacuum cleaner in the world, and that might very well be true: it has a diameter of 24.8 centimeters. Comparing that to the dimensions of, for example, an iRobot Roomba, it is about half the size.
Additionally, it turns out to be a very low robot vacuum cleaner: the height has been reduced from 9.5 centimeters to 9.2 centimeters.
LiDAR Technology and Mopping Functionality
The new small robot vacuum maps the house using LiDAR. Through the SwitchBot app, you can then create cleaning schedules and specify where the robot vacuum is not allowed to go using no-go zones.
SwitchBot promises a high suction power of 2500Pa. You can manually set this suction power to four different levels. The SwitchBot K10+ also has a mopping function that you can optionally use. And if you have a smart speaker from Google, Apple, or Amazon at home, you can control the robot vacuum with your voice: the K10+ supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT.
Automatic Emptying and Charging Station
The SwitchBot K10+ comes with a charging station where the robot vacuum can automatically empty itself. Such a charging station is not entirely new, and I discovered it during my iRobot Roomba J7+ review.
Corners Remain a Problem for Robot Vacuums
One of the biggest challenges of a robot vacuum is cleaning the corners. Various vacuum cleaner brands have tried to find solutions for this, for example, Neato with a D-shaped robot vacuum (check my Neato D8 review).
SwitchBot K10+ Purchase: Release Date and Price
Good news for those who want to buy this mini robot vacuum: you can pre-order it on the SwitchBot website. In fact, there is an early bird discount, where you get a 100-euro discount. The price of the SwitchBot K10+ is 499 euros. The official release date is November 15, on which pre-orders will also be shipped.
