How I research the best stick vacuum for carpet
In all my vacuum cleaner reviews I do research on how good the suction performance is on soft floor types. Whether it concerns canister vacuums or stick vacuums in this case.
Suction performance on soft floor types
I do this with the help of special floor trays, which are fitted with a high-pile and low-pile carpet. Using small (grains of rice) and large (macaroni) dirt, I test how well the stick vacuum performs.
In addition to the suction performance on soft floor types, it is also very important to pay attention to the airflow of the stick vacuum with the carpet. I measure the airflow in meters per second using an anemometer. This allows me to compare vacuum cleaners for carpets and select the best one.
In this case I look less at the suction power of a vacuum cleaner. A suction power is measured in vacuum (with a vacuum meter in kilopascals). This is less interesting for carpets, since the vacuum cleaner could no longer be pushed forward when a vacuum is created on the floor. In fact, with many vacuum cleaners you can use a slide on the handle to ensure an air leak, so that no vacuum can form on the carpet.

Research methodology
To make sure I do the same on every survey, I adhere to the following rules when testing a stick vacuum on carpets:
The stick vacuum cleaner must be completely emptied and fully charged
I always do the floor test with the multi-surface brush, unless a special carpet brush is included
The research takes place in our own floor bins with two types of dirt

How was the ranking determined?
When we check out stick vacuums for cleaning carpets, we focus on a few important things. The first is whether you can change the suction power. Carpets can be all sorts of different styles and thicknesses, so having a stick vacuum where you can change how strong the suction is can really help clean your carpets better.
Next, we think about how heavy the vacuum is. Stick vacuums are great for quick clean-ups and you might need to carry it around a lot. So, if it's lightweight, it makes it a lot easier, especially if you have a big carpeted area or stairs in your home.
We also look at the vacuum's filter. The filter is super important because it catches the dust and stuff that can make you sneeze or have allergies, making sure it doesn't get back into the air in your home.
Last, but definitely not least, we check out the vacuum's brushes. The best kind are the ones that are motorized because they can really get into the carpet and pull out hard-to-get dirt and pet hair. So, when we're comparing stick vacuums, we're looking for the one that can really handle carpets, and handle them well.
What I would like to point out
Cleaning carpets can be very difficult: pet hair and pollen in particular are often nestled deep into the fibers. With the right vacuum cleaner, removing pet hair from carpet is child's play. Since there is a carpet in almost every home, I think it is necessary to look carefully at the suction performance on soft floor types with every review.
In my opinion, a stick vacuum is an interesting choice for homes with a lot of carpet for the following reasons:
