Sometimes we have to deal with vacuum cleaners that are very similar. This is especially the case in the world of stick vacuums. Recently we were asked at VacuumTester whether we can expose the differences between the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua and the Dyson V11.

These are two powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaners without a bag. As the name suggests, the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua offers the possibility to mop with it. The Dyson V11 cannot do this. But besides this big difference, what are other differences? You’ll find out in this Philips SpeedPro Max Aqua vs Dyson V11 comparison.

Philips Speedpro Max Aqua vs Dyson V11: the differences

Let’s start with the biggest difference: the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua has a mopping function. With this vacuum cleaner you get a special suction mouth with which the vacuum cleaner can vacuum and mop at the same time. You have to fill it with water. The Dyson V11 does not have a mopping function.

The video below highlights the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua.

Battery life, nozzle, dust capacity and weight

We see another difference in the battery life: where you can vacuum for 60 minutes with the Dyson during normal use, this is about 80 minutes with the Philips Speedpro. We also discover with the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua LED lighting on the mouthpiece: something we do not encounter with the Dyson V11.

If we look at the weight, the Speedpro Max Aqua beats the V11: where the Dyson weighs more than 3 kilograms, the Philips upright vacuum cleaner weighs 2.7 kilograms. We also discover a difference in the field of dust capacity.

With a volume of collection of 0.76 liters, the Dyson is a bit larger than Philips with 0.6 liters. Are both too small in your eyes? Then take a look at the research into the best bagless vacuum cleaner: I also highlight canister vacuum cleaners with a much larger collection.

Similarities Between These Stick Vacuum Cleaners

It is of course also interesting to consider the similarities between these two powerhouses. As you know, we are dealing here with a stick vacuum: a cordless and bagless vacuum cleaner that you can hold in your hand. Both are equipped with a battery that needs to be charged in time and do not have a vacuum cleaner bag.

Applications, noise level and price

On three different points, the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua seems to match the V11 from Dyson. First of all, both stick vacuums are suitable for the following floor types and applications:

  • Hard floors
  • Deep-pile carpet
  • Short pile carpet
  • Wooden floors
  • Pet hair

In addition, we speak of good filters with both stick vacuums, making them suitable for people who quickly suffer from a dust allergy. If we zoom in on the noise level, the average for both the Speedpro Max Aqua and the Dyson V11 is between 82 and 85 decibels during normal use.

And although the prices can vary greatly at the larger webshops, you pay almost the same for both vacuum cleaners: about 600 euros.

Conclusion: which one is best?

Of course we are curious which one is the best. If you are looking for a stick vacuum that can also mop, you automatically make the best choice with the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua. The Dyson V11 simply has no mopping capabilities.

In addition, the Philips Speedpro Max Aqua scores better than the Dyson V11 on several points. It is lighter, has a longer battery life and is equipped with lighting on the suction nozzle. The only plus of the Dyson V11 is that it has a slightly larger dust container.
