Samsung recently presented a new stick vacuum cleaner: the Samsung Bespoke Jet. When I extensively tested this vacuum cleaner, I found that it has quite a few similarities with the Dyson V15. Not only in terms of performance, but also when I look at the floor brushes and included accessories.
I have therefore decided to compare the Samsung Bespoke Jet with the Dyson V15 Detect. Let's take a look at the biggest differences and similarities in this Samsung Bespoke Jet vs Dyson V15 comparison.
Samsung Bespoke Jet vs Dyson V15: Differences
Yes, we are talking about a Samsung vs Dyson comparison: that there are differences is one thing that is certain. The vacuum cleaners not only look very different, but also differ in size and specifications.
Dust container and emptying
The dust container of the vacuum cleaners differ in size: the Samsung Bespoke Jet has a capacity of 0.5 liters: with the Dyson V15 this is 0.77 liters. This difference is clearly visible in the photo below.

Normally I'd say you should empty the Samsung Bespoke Jet more often than the Dyson, but that's not true. The Bespoke Jet can be emptied automatically.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a charging and emptying station: you can empty the vacuum cleaner in this station at the touch of a button. This is not possible with the Dyson: although you enjoy the ‘No Touch' emptying mechanism there, you will still have to do this manually.

Laser technology and Piezo sensor
Where you enjoy an automatic emptying system with the Samsung stick vacuum, the Dyson V15 is equipped with innovative technologies. For example, it comes with a floor brush with laser technology: this makes dirt on the floor much more visible. The vacuum cleaner is also called the ‘Dyson with green laser'.

And that's not all: the V15 Detect also features a Piezo sensor. This monitors which allergens are being aspirated, which is also shown on the LCD display. The sensor makes it possible to automatically adjust the suction power if necessary.
Dyson V15 Detect
Suction power and airflow
I do research into the best powerful vacuum cleaner, by doing a suction power measurement in every review. There are also noticeable differences in the area of suction power. With 14 kPa, the Samsung Bespoke Jet has a higher suction power than the Dyson V15 (10 kPa).

The airflow is also a lot higher with the Samsung stick vacuum: I measure 19.2 meters per second in my Samsung Bespoke Jet review, while I measure 16.6 meters per second with the Dyson V15.
Weight: Samsung Bespoke Jet slightly lighter
Stick vacuums are often not heavier than 4 kilograms and they are nice and flexible. When I compare the weight of the Samsung Bespoke Jet with the weight of the Dyson V15, I see a difference of about 0.5 kilograms.
The Samsung Bespoke Jet weighs 2.51 kilograms, the Dyson V15 Detect 3 kilograms. With both stick vacuum cleaners, the motor and dust container can be found on the top of the vacuum cleaner. I must confess that I don't really ‘feel' the weight difference while vacuuming.
Noise level; Dyson V15 is quieter
The Dyson V15 has won our Silent Vacuum designation in the search for the best quiet vacuum cleaner. For a stick vacuum, it is a quiet choice with 72 decibels. It is true that this is still not very quiet, but it is in the world of cordless and bagless vacuum cleaners.

The noise level of the Samsung Bespoke Jet is slightly higher at 74.9 decibels.
The biggest differences at a glance:
- The Samsung Bespoke Jet can be emptied automatically
- The Dyson V15 Detect features laser technology
- The Samsung Bespoke Jet has a higher suction power and airflow
- The Bespoke Jet is about half a kilo lighter than the Dyson V15 Detect
- The Dyson V15 Detect is slightly quieter than the Samsung stick vacuum
Samsung Bespoke Jet vs Dyson V15: Similarities
Both the Samsung Bespoke Jet and the Dyson V15 detect are cordless and bagless stick vacuums. But, those are not the only similarities. For example, the supplied additional accessories are very similar.
Motorized Floor Brushes
With both stick vacuums you get an incredible number of different accessories. Also motorized floor brushes: with both the Dyson V15 Detect and the Samsung Bespoke Jet you get a floor brush with a soft roller brush. You can use this on fragile wooden floors.
In addition, both stick vacuums also come with a floor brush for soft floors. In the photo below you can clearly see how much these vacuum cleaners look alike.

Included accessories (Dyson a little more)
What is a striking resemblance between the Samsung Bespoke Jet and the Dyson V15 Detect is the included extras and their use. A list with all the accessories that you will discover with both stick vacuums:
- Motorized Mini Pet Hair Brush
- Crevice tool for hard-to-reach places
- 90 degree extension (also called a top on brush)
- Flat nozzle with extendable dusting brush
Although you get two extra Dyson parts with the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute version (a stubborn dirt brush and a soft dusting brush), this is a remarkably large agreement.*

* The accessories supplied with a Dyson depend on which version you buy. For the Dyson V15 Detect review I chose the Absolute version. In the article “Which Dyson to Buy?” find out what you get with each performance.
Battery life: both about 60 minutes
We are dealing here with cordless vacuum cleaners: the battery life is therefore very important. Both the Dyson V15 Detect and the Samsung Bespoke Jet have a battery life of 60 minutes in the lowest setting. Although I am speaking of an agreement here, I must make a small caveat. With the Samsung Bespoke Jet you get an extra battery.
You can charge this battery in an included accessory holder, so you never have to deal with an empty battery.
The biggest similarities:
- Both vacuum cleaners are suitable for all floor types
- You get almost the same attachments with both stick vacuums
- Both the Dyson V15 and the Samsung Bespoke Jet are suitable for pet hair
- Both vacuum cleaners have a battery life of 60 minutes in the lowest setting
Conclusion: Samsung Bespoke Jet vs Dyson V15
Now that we have discussed the main differences and similarities, it is interesting to see them side by side in an overview.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet and the Dyson V15 are comparable vacuum cleaners in terms of suction performance. They are both suitable for all floor types and are also very versatile in use. The latter is mainly due to the many extras supplied with both stick vacuums.
The biggest difference is the emptying of the vacuum cleaners: the Samsung Bespoke Jet can be emptied automatically. Another key difference is the Dyson V15's laser technology, which makes dirt on the ground more visible.
I can't answer the question which of the two is the best choice. After all, the best choice depends on your needs and wishes. That is why I have made a selection aid for both stick vacuums below.
