A robot vacuum cleaner starts automatically. It's even nicer if you can also operate it with voice commands: then you don't even have to press a button or grab your phone to operate the robot vacuum cleaner.

Do you have a Xiaomi Roborock robot vacuum cleaner? Then I have good news for you! Roborock offers – in many cases – support for Google Home. Once paired you can activate, pause and even return the Roborock to its charging station. Let's take a quick look at how you can realize this integration!

Why link Roborock to Google Home?

Let's first briefly consider why it is interesting to connect your Roborock robot vacuum cleaner to Google Home. The main reasons at a glance:

  • You can operate the robot vacuum cleaner with voice
  • The robot vacuum cleaner can be included in scenarios
  • Connecting the Roborock to other smart home devices within the Google Home ecosystem

Of course you need a roborock that supports Google Assistant for this. The Roborock S6 MaxV I tested is a good example. Read the full Roborock S6 MaxV review.

Roborock Google Home commands

As I just mentioned, you can operate the Roborock robot vacuum cleaner with voice commands if you have made a connection. For example, you can have the robot vacuum cleaner start vacuuming or, for example, have it return to the charging station.

In the Google Home app you can optionally give the Roborock a name and address it that way. However, this is not always necessary and you can also say, for example: “Hey Google, start vacuuming“.

View a number of Google Home commands that you can use below.

  • Roborock robot vacuum cleaner (with support for Google Home)
  • Google Home assistant device (smart speaker or display)
  • Roborock or Xiaomi MI Home account
  • Google Home account
  • Strong and solid WiFi network

  1. This works well if you only have a robot vacuum but when I set up Google home with Roborock Q Revo, it attempts to vacuum and mop every time I tell it to go and vacuum.
