iRobot has announced a new robot vacuum cleaner: the iRobot Roomba i3 EVO. The robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with the latest home intelligence software from iRobot. For example, the vacuum cleaner creates virtual maps of the home, where users can specifically indicate where the Roomba i3 EVO should vacuum. The robot vacuum cleaner is available with and without an automatic emptying station.
Update: I have already tested this robot vacuum cleaner. Read my experiences in the iRobot Roomba i3 EVO review.
Roomba i3 EVO can clean in a targeted manner
The new iRobot Roomba i3 EVO is equipped with Imprint Smart Mapping technology. The robot vacuum cleaner creates a virtual map of the home. Users can then indicate via the app which rooms need to be vacuumed. It is also now possible to see approximately how long the cleaning activity will take.
“10 times more suction power than Roomba 600 series”
According to iRobot, the Roomba i3 EVO has 10 times more suction power than the Roomba 600 series. The robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with an Edge-Sweeping brush and two rubber floor brushes that we saw earlier in the Roomba J7+ review. Removing pet hair will therefore not be a problem.
Targeted Navigation
That iRobot robot vacuums follow a systematic cleaning route is nothing new. The Roomba i3 EVO vacuums in straight lines and does not skip anything. Is the battery empty? Then it returns to the charging station, after which it immediately starts working again when it has been charged enough.

iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO can empty itself
If you don't want to empty the robot vacuum yourself, you can opt for the i3+ EVO version. It comes with the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal. This automatic emptying station is equipped with a dust bag that does not need to be emptied for about 60 days.
Voice support and constant updates
The Roomba i3 EVO is equipped with the latest software from iRobot. This allows you to immediately enjoy the new functions such as a child lock and the do not disturb function. The robot vacuum cleaner also supports voice assistants. For example, you can control the Roomba with Siri, Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.
Do you want to enjoy the robot vacuum and mop combination? That is possible: the iRobot Roomba uses the Imprint Link technology. This allows him to work with the Braava Jet m6 mop robot.
