A first for Electrolux: it is the first brand to market vacuum cleaners with a paint-free surface. With this, Electrolux wants to reduce the impact on the environment. The vacuum cleaner series will be launched in 2023
Vacuum cleaners without paint
The production of the new vacuum cleaners with a paint-free surface makes the use of chemicals superfluous. At the same time, CO2 emissions are also greatly reduced, because no paint has to be produced.
Although no paint is used, the vacuum cleaners are still available in different colours. Electrolux has realized the colors using new formulations of recycled plastic.
“The paint-free finish allows us to give color to a whole range of stick vacuum cleaners by using a premium formulation derived from recycled plastics“, explains Simon Bradford, Head of Design at Electrolux.

Not the first move towards sustainable vacuum cleaners
It is not the first time that Electrolux (AEG) has made a move towards sustainable vacuum cleaners. For example, I previously tested the AEG VX82-1 ÖKO, a vacuum cleaner that consists of 57% recycled plastic.
In my view, Electrolux is a pioneer in sustainability in the world of vacuum cleaners and an example for many other brands.
Robbert Tigchelaar has made testing vacuum cleaners his life's work. He has dedicated himself to conducting fully independent and valuable tests of vacuum cleaners to provide consumers with honest advice. His expertise in vacuum cleaners has been highlighted in The Washington Post and the Daily Express.
