In short: the difference between the Dyson V15 Detect, Absolute and Complete is the accessories you get. The Dyson V15 Detect Complete (Extra) is the most comprehensive package. View the prices here.

If there is a vacuum cleaner brand that offers many different vacuum cleaners, it is Dyson. Dyson not only has a lot of comparable vacuum cleaners: even from a certain type of vacuum cleaner there are many different choices to be made.

This is also the case, for example, with the Dyson V15 Detect, better known as the Dyson with green laser. When buying a Dyson V15 Detect, you can choose from different packages, including a Dyson V15 Absolute (Extra) and a Dyson V15 Complete (Extra). In this article I explain exactly what the difference is and you find out which one is best for you.

Dyson V15 Detect: stick vacuum cleaner with laser

Let me start with a brief introduction to the Dyson V15 Detect. Because, as I just said, that's the basis. The Dyson V15 Detect comes standard with a Fluffy Detect brush. This floor brush is equipped with green laser technology, which allows you to better detect dirt on the floor.

What is also unique about the Dyson V15 is that it is equipped with a so-called Piezo sensor. The Dyson's LCD screen shows you exactly what you're vacuuming and automatically adjusts the suction power if necessary.

In my extensive Dyson V15 review, this turned out to work well and I was very satisfied with this stick vacuum. In fact, in my opinion it is the best stick vacuum cleaner at the moment.

Dyson V15 Detect vs Absolute vs Complete

When you want to buy a Dyson vacuum cleaner, you will soon be faced with many choices. It was no coincidence that I wrote a very large manual on ‘Which Dyson to buy?‘, where I listed all packages per stick vacuum.

If you are planning to purchase a Dyson V15 Detect, you can choose from an Absolute and a Complete package. And, to make it even more difficult, there is also an ‘Extra' version of these packages. So, a Dyson V15 Detect Absolute, Absolute Extra, Complete, and Complete Extra.

If you are planning to purchase a Dyson V15 Detect, you can choose from an Absolute and a Complete package.

But I emphasize: you still get the same Dyson stick vacuum with all packages.

The difference is the number of accessories

The difference between the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute vs Complete is the number and type of accessories you get. It is important to delve into this thoroughly. For example, you don't get a tangle-free mini brush with every package, which can be on your wish list if you have a pet.

I've done research into the different Dyson V15 packages and listed all the accessories you get per package below.

Dyson V15 Absolute vs Complete: Which is best?

The answer to the question of which to choose, the V15 Absolute or the Complete, depends on your needs. For example, if you have a lot of carpet on the floor, a motorized Torque floor brush is a must-have. The same applies to a mini turbo brush: if you have a dog or cat walking around the house, such a motorized mini brush is very handy.

Are there a lot of accessories that you don't use? Then that can be a shame, because you do pay for this. In this case, you might want to consider building your Dyson yourself. Vacuumtester.com discovered that this can save hundreds of euros. Note: instead of a two-year warranty, you only have a one-year warranty when you buy all parts separately.
