At Vacuumtester.com we conduct daily research in the world of vacuum cleaners. We test vacuum cleaners according to a defined research methodology, with tailor-made measuring tools and compare models to find out which one is best for your needs.
But now there's ChatGPT, an AI chatbot that answers your questions at lightning speed. I decided to ask ChatGPT what the best vacuum cleaner in the world is right now.
ChatGPT: “There is no single best vacuum cleaner”
The chatbot starts off with a relatively safe answer: “There is no single “best” vacuum cleaner that suits everyone's needs, as it depends on individual preferences and circumstances,” according to ChatGPT.
I fully agree with this. Also with the factors that the chatbot then names:
- Type of vacuum cleaner
- Floor type
- Filtration
- Suction
- Noise level
- Price
These are exactly all the factors I examine in my vacuum cleaner reviews. What ChatGPT does not mention, but is just as important are the following factors:
- Included accessories
- Dust capacity
- Working range
- Weight
The chatbot labeled some vacuum cleaner brands as popular: “Some popular and highly-rated vacuum brands include Dyson, Shark, Miele, and Bissell.
Read vacuum cleaner reviews and do research
Although many jobs are under pressure due to the possibilities of artificial intelligence – think of artists due to the introduction of the AI art generator DALL-E – my profession as a vacuum cleaner tester does not seem to be in danger yet.
ChatGPT recommends reading reviews and doing proper research before buying a vacuum cleaner: “It's recommended to read reviews and do some research before making a purchase to ensure that the vacuum cleaner you choose is right for you“, according to the chatbot from OpenAI.
Maintenance? Follow the manufacturer's recommendations!
Of course you could ask a chatbot a lot more about vacuum cleaners. For example, how often you need to replace and/or clean the filters. Here too, the AI-based chatbot has no clear answer: “It's important to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for filter replacement and maintenance to keep your vacuum running smoothly and to ensure that it's effectively removing dirt and debris from your home“.
And that is important, because not all HEPA filters are washable and the replacement frequency of filters can differ per vacuum cleaner. If you replace the filters too late, this will have a negative effect on the cleaning results.
What is Vacuumtester.com?
I conclude my interview with ChatGPT by asking what Vacuumtester.com is. The AI chatbot seems to give a safe answer by using the word ‘may' very often: “Vacuumtester.com may be a website that provides reviews and information on various vacuum cleaners. It may have articles or blog posts that help consumers make informed decisions when purchasing vacuum cleaners“.
Conclusion: Chatbot not yet a decision aid for vacuum cleaners
I can imagine that the AI chatbot can be an interesting help for many questions with a factual answer. When it comes to vacuum cleaners – and other electronic devices – the answer is so dependent on so many personal needs that ChatGPT should really need all the information you might not already know.
It goes without saying that it remains important to keep reading reviews and doing research into a vacuum cleaner before you make the purchase. Something I would like to help you with as Vacuumtester.
