Dyson has launched a new Amazon Skill for vacuum cleaners. With this ‘Dyson Care Skill' you can request information about the maintenance of your stick vacuum.

Dyson Care Skill

To activate the Dyson Care Skill, say “Amazon, open Dyson Care”. Users can request information about and identify Dyson problems. Think of a blocked airway or what happens when a red light flashes.

Alexa could then help stick vacuum owners step-by-step through troubleshooting: “Alexa from Amazon guides owners through step-by-step diagnostics to identify problems and ways to resolve them,” Dyson said in the announcement.

Maintenance reminder

The maintenance of a Dyson vacuum cleaner is important: if you don't do this regularly, it can have a negative effect on the cleaning performance. To make sure you never forget to replace the Dyson filter or clean your Dyson vacuum, Dyson Care also sends reminders.

Users can indicate themselves on which days and times they want to receive this ‘monthly' reminder.

Availability and support

The new Alexa skill can be used with the following Dyson stick vacuums:

  • Dyson V6
  • Dyson V7
  • Dyson V8
  • Dyson V10
  • Dyson V11 Outsize
  • Dyson Micro
  • Dyson V11
  • Dyson V12
  • Dyson V15

Alexa skill only available in United States and Germany

The Dyson Skill Care is currently only available in the United States and Germany. And to use this new Alexa Skill, you obviously need a smart speaker or display that supports Alexa voice assistant.

  1. My vacuum is less then 2 yrs old and the battery is inop. I went to your service center and was told my model no longer has a battery replacement. This is unacceptable for the 700$. What are me options
